    • At the Committee of the Whole, Council received a presentation from the City’s consultant on the Climate Adaptation Action Plan, which was adopted in the regular meeting. The Plan is now available on the City’s website, here: https://www.princerupert.ca/building-development/community-planning/climate-action-planning
    • Council approved sending a letter in support of the Liquor License Amendment application for Port City Spirits to extend their service to an outdoor patio, with the caveat that the patio operations ceased at 11pm. There were 22 letters received in support of the application, and one expressing concerns. A decision about whether to approve the application is now with the Provincial Liquor and Cannabis Licensing Branch.
    • Council approved the waiver of 2025 fees associated with the arena dry floor set up for Friday February 7th for the All Native Basketball Tournament. These fees were waived to acknowledge ANBT’s accommodation of the schedule change and support multi-use of the facility.
    • Council approved expenditures for improvements to utility infrastructure for Lisa Walters Drive and directed that the project be included in the 5 year Financial Plan Bylaw.
    • Council approved a Development Variance Permit for 975 Saskatoon Avenue.
    • Council gave first and second readings to a Zoning Bylaw amendment to rezone the property where the current Lax Kw’alaams Business Development office sits from Public Use to Commercial, to reflect current use of the property. Council also directed that a Section 219 covenant be registered on the property prior to final reading to require that the developer be responsible for upgrading of services to the property if needed to accommodate any new development or changes to the building that would be allowed under the new zone. A public hearing will now be scheduled before the third and final reading can occur.
