The City appoints volunteer directors to a number of local committees that contribute to community livability and well-being. The following are the main committees that the City appoints to:

- Tourism Prince Rupert Board
- Museum of Northern BC Board
- Prince Rupert Library Board
- Prince Rupert and Area Accessibility Committee
