The Province of BC has passed several pieces of legislation that change the local government land use planning framework with the intent to increase the housing stock to keep pace with demand. These changes will impact things like allowable densities, public input processes, development costs and other regulations. The City of Prince Rupert has now initiated the process of ensuring that we align our local policies and regulations with the new legislation, and more information on our work on that will be shared as soon as possible.
