The mission of the Planning and Development Services department is to safeguard, protect and enhance the health, safety, public welfare and quality of life in the community through a customer service oriented commitment to courtesy, integrity and diplomacy, timely responses, and open-mindedness with respect to land development, construction, business operations and Bylaw observance. In addition, through our Planning function, we aim to ensure that all land use is in alignment with Council's adopted Official Community Plan and other land use regulations, plans and policies.
Services provided by our department are:
- Building Maintenance
- Building Permits
- Bylaw Enforcement (support for complaint intake, administration of Bylaw enforcement is with Corporate Administration)
- Cemetery Services
- Land Sales (inquiries redirected to Economic Development Office + Corporate Administration)
- Land Use Applications
- Substandard Buildings
- Business Licenses
