Thanks to a break in the weather we are extremely happy to report that the 2nd Ave bridge is receiving its final layer of pavement today and will be reopened to vehicle traffic effective tomorrow (Saturday) morning. Thanks to the efficient work of contractors, the project is finished on schedule.
We want to thank the residents for their patience during this essential construction project, as well as CN for supporting the alternate access route. Although these improvements have secured the safety of the bridge for the coming years, the City is continuing with its alternate route study to determine the best path forward in future for access to this area.
