For those east area residents keeping a keen eye on the status of the 6th Avenue Bridge, you’ll see full-scale activity beginning next week. Contractors will be starting on the full repair works to the 6th Avenue Bridge Wednesday, July 31st, with an anticipated completion date of October 18th. Although we had originally hoped to complete repairs prior to the school year start, delays relating to material supply and contractor availability have unfortunately impacted this critical repair work. Additionally, due to the extent of repairs this will require a full closure of both lanes of the bridge as well as closure to the current temporary pedestrian access. In the meantime, residents may use detours available in the map attached.
