As Council moves into finalization of the Budget for 2026 and final adoption of the Five Year Financial Plan (Budget) Bylaw 3671, 2025, the City is providing public notice of an update to the Five Year Financial Plan Bylaw 3671, 2025 that received three readings in December. These changes are based on updated information for project costing, grants received, and requests from different Departments that have been provided over the past few months along with recently provided BC Assessment property values. Council is being requested to approve the proposed changes, prior to the City’s anticipated timeline to adopt the Financial Plan at the end of April.
Proposed changes will not result in any change to City servicing levels with the originally proposed property tax increase of 3.7% remaining the same to meet operational needs.
The repeal and replacement of the Third Reading of the Five Year Financial Plan Bylaw 3671,2025, and Three Readings of the associated Property Tax Bylaw 3674, 2026 will be considered at a Special Meeting of Council on April 20th at 5:30 pm.
A full list of proposed changes is available here: Proposed Financial Plan Amendment Changes.
