An election by voting is to be held to elect  six  Councillors, and six School Trustees, and that the following persons are candidates for each office. Candidates are listed in the order that they will appear on the ballot.

Notice of Acclamation

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY given to the electors of the City of Prince Rupert that pursuant to section 98 of the Local Government Act the following candidate is elected by acclamation:

Don't forget to bring ID to the polls!

Electors may be asked to produce 2 pieces of identification (at least one with a signature). Picture identification is not necessary. The identification must prove both residency and identity.  For additional information on what type of ID is accepted, head to princerupert.ca/election.

Advanced and Special Voting Opportunities

Public Notice is given as follows:

  • TWO ADVANCE VOTING OPPORTUNITIES will be HELD between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 7th, and, Wednesday, October 14th both in the Raven Lounge of the Prince Rupert Recreation Complex , 1000 McBride Street, Prince Rupert
  • A SPECIAL VOTING OPPORTUNITY will be held on Thursday, October 15th, 2026 for qualified electors who are staff, patients or residents at the 
    Prince Rupert Hospital from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and at
    Acropolis Manor from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

GENERAL VOTING DAY will be Saturday, October 17th, 2026 , between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm  at the following location:

Mail in Ballots

REQUESTING A MAIL BALLOT PACKAGE

If you wish to vote by mail, please contact the Elections Office for a mail ballot request form, or go to princerupert.ca/election to download the form directly. The City must receive your request form to City Hall by mail (424 3rd Avenue West, Prince Rupert, BC, V8J 1L7), telephone (250) 627 2898, fax (250) 627 0999 or email election@princerupert.ca no later than 4:00 pm on October 2nd if it is to be mailed to you. If your request is complete and you qualify to receive a ballot, one will be mailed to you as soon as ballots are available.  After October 2nd, requests for mail ballots that will be picked up from City Hall will be received until October 14th at 4:30 p.m. Mail ballots must be received at City Hall by no later than 8 pm on Saturday, October 17th. Use the City Hall drop slot after hours.
