Cold Snap Coming

Type(s)
Public Notice

The City is advising residents that there will be an extreme cold front coming over the weekend and into next week. It’s going to be worse inland, but still projected to get below -10 degrees here. Operations crews, when they aren’t busy fixing the multitude of emergency water breaks we have been having, have been prepping the roads in anticipation of the frosty weather. We suggest that residents do the same for your properties. There isn’t anticipated to be snow until mid-week next week, but it might get slick with ice/frost in the meantime, so early salting/sanding the walkways in front of your homes and businesses will go a long way to keeping our neighbours safe. Additionally, to prevent potential freezing of your pipes, let your taps run at a slow trickle when you’re out of your home during the day and overnight. Thank you for your cooperation, and stay safe out there!
