The City of Prince Rupert and Kxeen Community Services Society are currently looking for 2 elder volunteer members interested in serving on the Indigenous Relations Committee. The committee has been established to better understand how the City can to improve understanding of cultural practices, reduce harm, and build relationships with Indigenous residents and organizations.
Volunteers are provided a $50 stipend per meeting, which will occur monthly (less frequency in the summer), with provision for calling additional meetings if needed.
If you are interested in helping the municipality become more responsive to Indigenous needs in the community, please submit a letter of interest by July 11th at 4:00 pm. Please include a written description of your skills and life experiences that would make you an appropriate committee member.
