Recreation Complex Accessible amenities

The Prince Rupert Recreation Complex has made accessibility related improvements to support access for as many residents as possible. Below is a non-comprehensive list of some of the amenities available:

• Accessibility/Wheelchair lifts that go to the meeting rooms on the 2nd floor of the Civic Centre and the Fitness Centre at the Aquatic Centre 
• Shower seats, grab bars and removable showerheads in the pool showers
• Water wheelchairs at the Aquatic Centre 
• Universal (Gender Neutral) change rooms in the lobby of the pool
• Portable viewing ramp at the arena
• Automated accessible front doors at the Civic Centre and the Aquatic Centre.

Accessibility and inclusion is a priority and we are always looking for grant funding and other funding supports for accessibility initiatives in the Recreation and Community Services Department.
