K'oomtk Drop-in Centre for Young Adults
The drop-in centre will connect youth with cultural mentors and meaningful recreational activities. It is expected that the youth that access this space will have deeper community connections and friendships, develop a sense of pride and be confident to share their learning and skills with the community. By providing safe recreation, community connection and boosting esteem, the number of youth participating in crime is expected to decrease.

Soar Program
Our SOAR Program is dedicated to supporting young adults move to independence and the understand the responsibilities of adulthood. Our SOAR Program will provide support to assist youth to identify available resources, during their stay in the Soar program, youth are provided with safe and supportive semi-independent accommodation in one of the 2 townhouses we manage while they are attending school, gaining life skills, participating in employability programs, or working.

Community Adult Literacy Program
Wayi Wah is a Community Adult Literacy Program (CALP) in Prince Rupert which will provide learners with the opportunity and support to plan and fulfil their learning goals. Computer, resume and job search workshops are delivered at our McKay Street Adult Literacy Space
and our K'oomtk Drop-in Centre for YA. Seminars focused on financial literacy, goal setting, planning and identifying resources in our community will be delivered. Change Makers’ recognizes that health and civic literacy are important; we use these concepts to encourage discussion, promote healthy decision making and provide engaging activities for our learners.

Community Volunteer Tax Clinic
We are supported through the Canada Revenue Agency to offer free Community Volunteer Tax clinics; to continue to help low-income people, seniors, immigrants, the homeless, and recipients of social assistance and unemployment insurance. Filing for taxes is often required to qualify for benefits and social housing, and has the potential to provide stability in our learners’ lives.
