Water Quality Advisory Lifted

News Release

Advisory had been in effect due to construction impacts

PRINCE RUPERT, DECEMBER 18th, 2023 – Residents are advised that the Water Quality Advisory has now been rescinded, under advisement from Northern Health. This lower level of notification had been in place due to the potential for ongoing construction to impact water quality as a precaution for at-risk users.  For the time being the City has now concluded works that had the potential to impact quality, specifically those occurring around our reservoir.

If water users in construction areas see a milky quality or sediment in their water, please run cold water, preferably through your bathtub or laundry sink taps, until it is cleared. Do not run appliances that use the water system (laundry, dishwasher, fridges) until water runs clear.
