There are a number of playgrounds that have been upgraded in the community to enhance accessibility for the children of Prince Rupert, many of which are attached to schools within School District 52, and funded through grants from the Prince Rupert Port Authority.
The following playgrounds have accessible features:
- Mariners Park Playground - accessible surfacing, paved pathways
- Roosevelt Park Elementary School (primary playground at back of building) - wheelchair accessible swing, surfacing and play equipment
- Pineridge Elementary School playground - accessible surfacing, ramp accessible playground equipment
- Seal Cove Community Park - paved circular pathway
- Lax Kxeen Elementary school - accessible surfacing, merry-go-round feature, slide
