City Seeking Volunteers for Accessibility Committee

Wed, March 22, 2023

The City of Prince Rupert is currently looking for seven volunteer members interested in serving on our new Accessibility Committee. The City is establishing the committee to better understand barriers to participation in local service provision so that we can update our policies and services to better accommodate all residents.

Our goal is to have over half of the committee (a minimum of four of seven members) be represented by persons with disabilities (visible or invisible) or individuals who represent organizations that support persons with disabilities.

If you are interested in helping the City become more accessible and welcoming to all residents, please submit a letter of interest by April 7th at 4:30 pm. Please include a written description of your skills and life experiences that would make you an appropriate committee member, and note that applications from persons with disabilities or representatives from organizations that support persons with disabilities will be given priority.
