Planned Airport Ferry Refit to Begin March 28th

Mon, March 25, 2019

PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. – Residents will soon notice a different mode of transportation going to and from the Digby Island Ferry terminal. The Digby Island Ferry will depart  Prince Rupert on Thursday March 28th for Victoria for its 3 year scheduled refit to ensure long-term maintenance of this critical transportation link.

The ferry will be gone for approximately 1 month while the refit is completed. During that time, Wainwright Marine will provide access to and from the airport via a tug and barge operation. This change in ferry service will have no impact on flights to and from Prince Rupert.

The scheduled bus departure times are as follows:

  • Bus Departure from YPR Shuttle Centre to the Airport for morning flight AC8279 is 9:15am
  • Bus Departure from YPR Shuttle Centre to the Airport for evening flight AC8281 is 6:10pm

This information mirrors that available on the airport’s website at www.ypr.ca.
