Users of the new Rushbrook Trail - Did you know there is free parking in Seal Cove? Use of this lot is both free and helps reduce congestion at the lot next to the Rushbrook Floats. Check out the map below for the designated parking area, which identifies the parking area in relation to the trailhead.
Please note that there has been a change to the airport ferry schedule and associated airport shuttle bus departure times. The bus to the airport will now depart the shuttle centre for the airport at: 9:15 am for a 9:20 am ferry sailing, and 6:10 pm for the 6:15 pm ferry sailing. This change will take effect starting Saturday, December 1st, until further notice.
Attention transit users, please be advised that starting tomorrow, the bus shelter in the 800 block of Prince Rupert Blvd (in front of Oasis apartments) will be undergoing a replacement, and a temporary sign will be put in place. Please note that the bus stop will remain active during construction. Crews are currently assessing the length of time the asset will take to replace, but will work to complete the work as soon as possible.
The City of Prince Rupert is seeking up to 6 volunteer community members to participate in a Select Standing Committee with Senior City Staff to provide City Council with research and recommendations on fair remuneration for Mayor and Council of the City of Prince Rupert. The anticipated volunteer commitment for this committee is a total of 2-3 meetings in November and December of 2018.
Fire Chief Dave Mckenzie had the opportunity to take a break from his position as Fire Chief late October, handing it over to Stella Barton, 6, from Lax Kxeen Elementary School. Stella was named Fire Chief for a day after submitting her name in a contest during Fire Safety Week presentations in local schools.
