Council Meetings



Council Meetings are generally held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month, unless they fall on a holiday, in which case the meeting will be held on the next business day. On the 4th Monday of each month there will be a Committee of the Whole Meeting as well as the Regular Meeting of Council.


Council meetings start at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The public is welcome to attend the 7:00 p.m. meetings of Council. The 5:00 p.m. meetings of Council are held to discuss items permitted by the Community Charter to be discussed in meetings that are closed to the public.


All Regular Council meetings take place in Council Chambers on the second floor at City Hall, 424 3rd Avenue West.

Committee of the Whole

Public attendance and participation are encouraged at Committee of the Whole meetings. It is also an appropriate forum for public delegations to make presentations, because the committee structure allows for less formal discussion and questions from Council. (read more...)
