May the 4th be with Business in Prince Rupert

May 04, 2018

MAY 4th, 2018 – PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. – Today the Economic Development Office at the City of Prince Rupert, in partnership with Community Futures of the Pacific Northwest, is launching a new online resource to assist new and existing businesses in Prince Rupert. The site, which can be found at https://princerupert.ecdev.org/  provides a comprehensive overview of the local business climate – retail opportunities, local labour statistics, information on existing industries, and more.

“Our mandate is to support and attract businesses in Prince Rupert,” said Paul Vendittelli, Economic Development Officer at the City of Prince Rupert. “There are many business opportunities here to service both the local port and the community as it grows alongside it. This website is a great tool to help people understand what opportunities exist, and how to access them.”

“This is a critical tool for entrepreneurs and investors looking for a market that has promise,” says Community Futures GM John Farrell. “As the fastest growing Port in North America, Prince Rupert has the long-term growth potential to make business successful. This website helps makes the case.”

This online resource will not only support locals in developing business ideas, but will showcase Prince Rupert to external business interests, and help develop a diversified economy for Prince Rupert. The site will be shared through the City’s social media platforms, and on the website at princerupert.ca/business.
