Notice of Proposed Funding Agreements

In accordance with Section 24 of the Community Charter, the City of Prince Rupert hereby gives notice of its intention to enter into the following Operating Funding Agreements:

The City intends to enter into an Operating Funding Agreement for a 3-year Term with the Prince Rupert Performing Arts Centre Society (the “Recipient”) for three-year operational cost contributions as follows:  year one $140,000; year two $144,200 and; year three $148,530.

City Solicits Proposals for Full Engineering and Architectural Designs Towards Rehabilitation of Heritage Rail Station

Following on the heels of last week’s Redesign Rupert event, the City is now pursuing full engineering and architectural design work towards the rehabilitation of the CN Heritage Rail Station at the waterfront. This project is an integral component to the Rupert’s Landing waterfront development announced with Gitxaala last Thursday at the Vision unveiling event.

Notice is hereby given that the COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE previously scheduled to be held on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 424 – 2 nd Avenue West, Prince Rupert, B.C. is hereby CANCELLED as no persons have put forward agenda items to the Corporate Administrator. Any persons who wish to present to council may forward their request to the Corporate Administrator for review and for consideration at the next scheduled meeting on Monday, January 27th, 2020.

RESOLUTION TO EXCLUDE THE PUBLIC THAT Council hereby declares that the meeting held at 5:00 p.m. on December 12, 2019 is to be closed to the public and that the basis of this closure is that the item(s) on the agenda of this meeting comply with the following closed meeting criteria specified in Section 90 of the Community Charter:

90.1 (e) the acquisition, disposition or expropriation of land or improvements, if the council considers that disclosure could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality.

 

Redesign Rupert 2030 Presentation this Thursday Evening
